Ebb Carbon is developing an electrodialysis system that enables high quality ocean-based carbon removal while reducing ocean acidity. Their electrochemical separation process takes saline water (preferably desalination effluent) and produces dilute hydrochloric acid and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) which is returned to the ocean along with the remaining input water.
