50 Companies Powering Tomorrow
Congruent Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank are excited to return with the 2026 edition of our list: 50 companies with the vision, technology, and scale to become the next set of billion-dollar market leaders. These businesses sit at the intersection of energy, technology, and climate impact, and are redefining industries as they advance global decarbonization. The list is non-exhaustive, and we hope it sparks conversation and collaboration around the pace of climate innovation.

IPOs and Hard Tech Heat Up
→ The IPO market reopened decisively, with 2026 on pace to break 2021’s record, led by SpaceX’s $75B debut, the largest IPO of all time. (Axios).
→ The public markets are welcoming climate tech again, underscored by the successful IPOs of Fervo Energy and X-Energy, and fueling renewed interest in the category.
→ This year, venture capitalists (VCs) are on pace to deploy $120B, roughly a third of all investment, into US companies building physical technologies, and one in five global VC firms now have 10% or more of their 2026 investments in US hardware. (SVB).
→ Climate tech funding reversed course, rising over 50% YoY to $26B in H1 2026. Growth is heavily weighted toward AI-driven demand for low-carbon data centers, which jumped from 3% to over 30% of all climate venture funding. (The Register).
